Greetings everyone. Today we kick off a new wave of House endorsements by sharing a new conversation with one of the stars of our 2026 recruitment class, Bobby Pulido, running in a newly drawn district in South Texas, TX-15. A video recording of our discussion and rough transcript can be found above.
Here’s Bobby’s assessment of the current political landscape in TX-15 from our talk:
We feel very good on the ground… this district [was rated] +0.4 for Republican leaning… which statistically is a tie. This is a district Trump won by +18. Now they redrew the lines last year after Abbott capitulated to Trump's wishes, but they did make the district more winnable. In 2022, Rochelle Garza, who ran for attorney general, lost in this district by less than one point to Ken Paxton. Beto [O’Rourke] against Greg Abbott in 2022 lost it by around two points.
……………
With all this madness and chaos… the gerrymandering, even with the decision in Virginia, the gutting of Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act — I think this area becomes even more important to turn. There would be nothing greater than to steal a seat they thought they wouldn't have to defend.
Here’s the newly drawn district. Yes, my friends, behold a true gerrymander!
While Bobby may be a celebrated Grammy-award winning singer/songwriter, as you will hear from our discussion he is deeply grounded in the community and a very thoughtful, serious candidate. Which is why it’s so laughable that his opponent made one of the great campaign mistakes a candidate can make…..
my opponent [Monica De La Cruz] criticized me on primary night, calling me a “quinceañera singer.” We said, you know what, invite us to the quinceañera and we’ll go. Little did we know that in one day we had a thousand invitations, and to date we’ve had 3,500, going to a lot of places.
And as Bobby explains playing at all these quinceañeras (sweet fifteen, coming of age celebrations) has allowed him to reach families and voters that would have been very hard for him to reach otherwise. Here’s a New Yorker write up of this great gift his opponent has given him:
You can support Bobby’s quest to turn this red seat blue by giving to our newly formed Winning The House - Second Wave campaign or supporting him directly. I’ve created our Second Wave campaign to support our House candidates who emerged a bit later this cycle, either due to redistricting or through the winning of a competitive primary. We have five initial candidates in our Second Wave campaign:
Bob Brooks (PA-07)
Johnny Garcia (TX-35)
Bob Harvie (PA-01)
Denise Powell (NE-02)
Bobby Pulido (TX-35)
As these candidates have emerged a bit later they are in need of resources to catch up and bulk up for the general election. Your contribution to our Second Wave campaign will be split evenly among the five, just as our Winning The House campaign splits its contribution twelve ways.

And enjoy getting to know one of our very best and most exciting candidates this cycle, Bobby Pulido.
Keep working hard all. We have a country to save, and great candidates to elect, together! - Simon
Bio - Bobby Pulido, Native Texan, Tejano Singer-Songwriter And US House Candidate Running In TX-15
Bobby Pulido was born and raised in Edinburg, Texas, where he still lives today with his wife. He is the proud father of four sons, raising his family in the same community that shaped him. The son of a farmworker-turned-musician, Bobby grew up surrounded by the values that define South Texas: hard work, humility, family, and faith.
After graduating from Edinburg High School, Bobby studied political science before pursuing a music career that would make him one of Tejano’s most recognized voices. For nearly three decades, he traveled the world performing, but his heart has always remained in the Rio Grande Valley.
Beyond the stage, Bobby built a life as a small business owner, signing paychecks, balancing budgets, and navigating the challenges that so many Valley entrepreneurs face. Those experiences gave him a firsthand understanding of what it takes to create opportunity in South Texas — and how important it is to invest in people and communities.
At home, Bobby is most proud of being a husband and father. Raising four sons in Edinburg has deepened his commitment to creating a better future for the next generation. In his free time, he enjoys hunting and spending time outdoors, staying connected to the land and traditions of the Valley.
Bobby is a South Texan who understands the struggles families face because they are his own: rising costs, a healthcare system that too often fails, and an immigration debate that ignores the realities of border communities. He believes in practical solutions, honest leadership, and putting people ahead of party.
Bobby’s life has always been about connection — listening to people, telling their stories, and building bridges across communities. From his earliest days growing up in Edinburg to his career on stage and his work in business, he has carried with him a belief that service to others is what matters most.
For Bobby, the Rio Grande Valley isn’t just where he’s from — it’s who he is.
