Thanks Simon. I’m going to listen to the CNN interview and Deep State Radio podcasts now while I write letters. I can (and sometimes do) listen to you all day.

Trump's bad April is about to get a whole lot worse for him starting Monday. For him, stormy weather ahead.

For sure: TRUMP AND MAGA UGLIER in 2024 than in previous cycles. The MAGA base is irredeemable. But sensible folks will see the clear choice. More notable GOPers, more former Trump staffers and more retired military leaders will stand up this fall.

Democracy will be on the ballot. Freedom will

be on the ballot (women’s reproductive health care), WE all will be on the ballot.

Excellent rundown. Can you comment in an upcoming discussion about RFKjrs campaign and if Dems are doing enough to counter him. A lot of people say he will take votes from Biden but his crazy stance on a number of issues make him sound more like a threat to the other guy. Thoughts?

Is it possible to get a copy of these slides?

I’d like to post something on a progressive site on the economy and cite a few of his charts on job creation and growth under Biden.

Simon, I love that you're spreading Hopium far and wide. And I love being a part of this astonishingly awesome grassroots movement to get out the vote with the message of what Biden is doing right. At the same time, I've been seeing more reference to GOP/MAGA efforts to: 1) continue to grow distrust of our election system 2) make it more and more diificult for people to vote, and 3) prepare for violence if Trump doesn't win. I would love some "Hopium to take" for these concerns. thank you!

A thought on that NYT poll: I noticed in their methodology they both overweight non-college survey takers and, as of February, include non-completers in their topline results. Nate Cohn has said that including non-completers pushes the sample a point or two in Trump’s favor. Seems to me that, in combination, these steps are pushing the results to be Trumpier than they might otherwise be… Regardless, it’s good to see positive movement there, especially given its influence on the media discourse.

Something that continues to worry me is that too many Americans are frighteningly ignorant about why reproductive rights are vital. I strongly believe that Democrats more qualified than I on such medical traumas need to get the word out and educate American voters about the many circumstances under which women need access to the full range of care.

We need medical professionals, not just heartbroken women, telling the plain truth of what goes wrong during some pregnancies and what the consequences are for those deprived of their civil right to medical care. The vicious cruelty of such state legislation as that in Idaho and Arizona needs to be plastered all over our networks, media, and grassroots presentations before it is too late. The malicious, dangerous, and hideously cavalier way this cruelty is currently presented needs to be countermanded by Democrats calling their bluff and laying it out for voters. There is nothing pro-like about denying people critical medical care in all circumstances.

Below is a Post I made on Robert Hubbell's letter today.. But here's the gist and my question. As an expert in polls, can you explain to me how a phone call poll with a 1% answer rate can have ANY validity? 1,059 responding from 127,000 calls made to 93,000 voters. I would like to know about the 99% who didn't answer.

I just read the latest NYTs/Siena poll. At the end they briefly reviewed their methodology. I question the reliability of a poll where only about 1% answer the phone. How can anyone speculate as to how the other 99% would respond. I think a better headline than something about Biden is improving would be “In the latest poll we had a 1% response rate so don’t take us too seriously.”

“We spoke with 1,059 registered voters from April 7 to 11, 2024.

Our polls are conducted by telephone, using live interviewers, in both English and Spanish. More than 95 percent of respondents were contacted on a cellphone for this poll.

Voters are selected for the survey from a list of registered voters. The list contains information on the demographic characteristics of every registered voter, allowing us to make sure we reach the right number of voters of each party, race and region. For this poll, we placed nearly 127,000 calls to more than 93,000 voters.”
