I very much admire and thank Cathy and Laura, and all those working with them, for the voter registration strategy for youth that they are pioneering. They are heroes!
I do learn from the efforts of others to avert our world from Third World status. There is a wonderful Harvard student who has initiated a drive to sign up and encourage youth activism-TurnUp.us
Also stop with the damn polls. It is an antiquated method. I’m 76, live in a city and have never once been polled. I never respond to an online poll since their questions are really non-questions and they just want your email to sell. A number of polls are corporate backed. What does that tell you about polls? Last election Michael Moore called this crap out and he was possibly the only one who called the red wave wrong. What does that tell you about polls?
My group of seniors will register voters, support candidates, and even drive voters to the polls as many of us have all our lives. Polls, media, pundits are the worst predictors.
Another grassroots, Northeast Arizona Native Democrats, is currently running a postcard campaign to organize “young Voters to influence friends and family to vote in 2024.”
Where is the forum? That hyperlink takes me to another regular post.
Am volunteering for a tipping point VA state house race - if we win this race, it is very likely we flip the state house to dems and prevent a scary GOP takeover in Virginia. Candidate is a nurse practitioner committed to abortion rights.
Working on “grassroots”alternatives. Pando...bit obscure, but the largest single tree. It looks like a normal forest but all the “individual trees” are actually collectively growing with a common root system. But more complicated, but interesting and fun 🙂
What about marching or marches? Playing off events like March on Washington etc?
Sowing? Like sowing seeds?
Maybe there is some internal NASA term related to the moonshot?
Unioning playing off the Union as the U.S.? It also Carrie’s with it the idea of uniting, coalitions, and inclusion?
Not sure. I’ve also been bouncing ideas of alternatives for “info warriors”.

NEAZ is included on Mobilize.us.
A remarkable, wonderful community that helped Arizona Democrats win in 2020.
This household loves writing these NEAZ postcard scripts, and their postcard designs are available on the VistaPrint Pro Shop.
The League of Women Voters also works with students in many states on voter registration so that is another good source! SFM
I'm trying to spread Laura's work on Daily Kos:
"The most underestimated, underfunded, and underutilized method we have for strengthening democracy" https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2023/8/31/2190758/--The-most-underestimated-underfunded-and-underutilized-method-we-have-for-strengthening-democracy
Love this. Such a relief from all the Republican intransigence in the news today 😊

If interested, here’s a video that talks about Pando some. It’s about half way into the video. https://youtu.be/vWAA-SrrFUQ?si=5rFWTIvIm6W-7qvd
