Thanks for the email Simon! I subscribed, sorry I couldn't be a founding member :-(. I am very excited to follow and see where we will go! I have been sharing your words of wisdom,, mostly in chats on Zoom, encouraging folks to follow you (I will now share your sub stack address & Twitter (I don't use much these days). I have decided to use Spoutible and will share there too ~ Claudia
Thanks for your reply! I've been so active jumping into so many Mobilize activities that I haven't been back in Spoutible. I am AZClaudjarae in Spoutible - same in Twitter but that is becomming so toxic - I'll get in Spoutible & try to find you.
I am only right now on Twitter, here and YouTube. I have accounts on Post and Mastadon but they are inactive. I will look at Spoutible in a few weeks after this thing is up and running. Thanks for being part of this new effort - S
Thanks you Simon. I also signed up on Mastadon but found it too difficult to use, Tribel too. Do you know of CBouzy, creator of Spoutible? His data was also on point in 2022. I am finding Spoutible very user friendly which is needed for most of us. Thank you for all you are doing right now - you are needed!
Found you and thanks, Claudia. I'm looking for new community on Spoutible. Its functionality has a ways to go but I am amazed what CBouzy and team have done with lots of improvements coming. Lots of good people and groups there already. Thanks again.
Congrats, Simon! Pitching a few ideas/themes for this year:
- Off-cycle focus: where best to put energy, attention, and donations. How to build infrastructure, community, and prepare for the coming election year.
- Keeping our bearings: your work was a tonic in 2022, helping many (me included) overcome a media-driven sense of hopelessness. During this reprieve, can you teach us how to keep our bearings during the next doom-and-gloom media hype cycle? (Other than subscribing to this Substack)
- New research: What does the latest poli sci research tell us about the most and least effective ways of communicating to fellow voters, building online community, and overcoming negative sentiment? I'm sure many wonder how best to use their limited time -- how helpful is sending personalized post cards to swing state voters vs. calling vs. sharing on social media, etc.
I've long been a fan of Substack authors and subscribe to quite a few, among them Heather Cox Richardson, Robert Hubbell, Your Local Epidemiologist (Katelyn Jetelina), Chopwood (Jessica Craven), Uncharted Territories (Tomas Pueyo), Dan Rather, Judd Legum, Robert Reich, Bill McKibben, and several others. Not surprisingly, I suffer from information overload and am wondering if you would consider doing a weekly summary of your substack postings. I greatly value your insights and work, but my 82 year-old brain cannot absorb it all.
Yay! And you laughed at me when I asked if you’d consider Substack. 😉 This made my day!
I get all my best ideas from all of you!

I'd like to follow you on Spoutible but couldn't find you. I'm on as Hilla.

I hope you'll join, Simon. I'm sure you'll get a warm welcome and get more people involved with your work. Thanks for what you do!

Great suggestions. Feel like we will be able to tackle a lot of this.
