A few days ago, you mentioned that there are many virtuous people running for office. I was very glad to hear that.

It seems that over the past decade, we have lost touch with the importance of virtue. We have too often forgotten the value of truth, compassion, love, empathy, and integrity. These are qualities at the heart of nearly every religious and moral tradition, yet in recent years they seem to have been neglected—especially by much of our political leadership.

Perhaps the turmoil we are experiencing is the universe warning us: wake up and look at what is happening. We need to make important adjustments and return to the values that are the scaffolding of a healthy society: truth, compassion for our fellow human beings, empathy, integrity, and concern for something greater than material success or personal attention. Without these virtues a society will fall into decay, as we are seeing happen today.

I hope the conversation about restoring virtue in public life grows and becomes more mainstream. I have written a series of posts on Truth in America and another on finding leaders who seek purpose rather than power. I hope this conversation continues.

Adding to all the above welcome news, the transition to clean energy is happening despite the regime's best (whatever that ever means) efforts! This is perhaps the most important thing we can do to fight climate change

"According to a recent report from the nonprofit Environmental Defense Fund and Atlas Public Policy, a record 79.7 GW of clean power is projected to come online in the US in 2026, even as roughly 8 GW of clean energy projects were canceled in the first quarter of the year."
