Report from Aurora, CO: Last evening, my wife and I attended an evening presentation in Denver featuring Anderson Cooper from CNN as part of the Colorado Speaker's Series at the Bellco Theater that seats 5,000 people.

He discussed the DOGE firings of "probationary" hires. These included recently promoted long-term employees (not just new hirings in their first year) because by law they are "probationary" in their new higher positions! These include some of the most experienced, senior positions in all branches of science, national security and health. Cooper also discussed the devastating effects of the USAID cuts that will impact Africa and the absolute incompetence of the DOGE actions.

The outrage in the audience was palpable and sustained. Since Trump is incapable of apology, and is not smart, he will own this outrage which will continue to grow.

Denver Mayor Mike Johnston also made an appearance and got a standing ovation for his brave appearance in Washington the day before!

Here in very red NJ04 we are planning an Empty Chair town hall for the next congressional recess, since we know the weasel Rep. Chris Smith is terminally absent. We are also doing a big Tesla protest tomorrow at the same location I was at a couple weeks ago all by myself. :)

Continuing to make the calls, and am appreciative of Sen. Kim and Sen. Booker's MSM appearances, which have gotten a lot stronger. Both have really risen to the occasion. Sen. Kim is not as good on the socials, but he's getting help from his staff.

And for those who missed my earlier post this week, we had a series of teach-ins here at the university where I am on faculty, and they were very well-attended. Students asked thoughtful questions, and they definitely seem to be more engaged. We are hopeful that they will start taking action on their own once the reality of impending graduation and the horrible job market kicks in. After faculty union complained about its lack of response, university admin has said DEI policies will remain in place.

Raise your voices and KEEP GOING!
