Trump Is A Rapist, Fraudster, Traitor, Felon. Now We Have An Election To Go Win, Together

Let's Seize The Moment, And Help Joe Biden and Democrats Tell Our Story

Happy Friday all. Got a few things for you today:

Folks Will Be Tuning In Now. Let’s Talk To Them About Biden’s Successful Presidency - From the very early days here at Hopium it is has been my belief that due to the escalating ugliness and extremism of MAGA more was possible for us this election cycle. That we needed to be approaching 2024 through a growth mindset, and focus on playing offense, not defense.

As I wrote the other day growing, winning, taking stuff away from this extreme and dangerous party is what we’ve been doing over the past few years. We gained ground in 2022, winning a Senate seat, 2 governorships, 4 state legislative chambers and keeping the House close enough to make more likely we win it back this time. In 2023 we took away a Supreme Court seat in Wisconsin, two of the largest GOP held cities in America - Colorado Springs and Jacksonville, the Ohio abortion ban, the Virginia Assembly, and state senate and house seats in special elections all across the country. In 2024 we took away NY-3 in February, and continue to win special elections across the US. In all these elections since Dobbs we just keep overperforming expectations and winning, and they keep struggling, and losing. There has been one strong party - us - and one very weak party - them.

This growth and expansion mindset has driven my campaign recommendations to you this year. We backed Tom Keen in Orlando and flipped a critical Florida state house seat. We went all in on NY-3, and took a Congressional seat we had lost 16 months earlier by 7.5 points and won it by 8 points! We went in early into North Carolina, this year’s most important Presidential expansion state, where extremists up and down the ballot are giving us clear opportunities to grow, make gains and win. We went into Arizona, where Kari Lake’s epic extremism and lunacy is also giving us remarkable opportunities up and down the ballot this November. We’ve endorsed 11 Democratic House races in GOP-held districts where we have the best chance to win - here too this is all about growth, expansion, and taking stuff away from them.

Trump’s conviction is giving us a new growth and expansion opportunity that we need to seize. It is likely that in the coming weeks, particularly if Trump decides to show up at the debate a month from now, tens of millions of Americans are going to start checking into this election for the first time. We need to talk to them. We need to get loud, and we need to get loud not about him, for they will hearing lots about him. We need to get loud about us, about Joe Biden, about his successful Presidency and how together we have made things better in America today and for generations to come. As Trump gets uglier, by going positive, really positive, we can establish and reinforce this basic contrast - Joe Biden good, Trump bad - that is essential to winning the election this year.

How do we do that? A few ways. First, support our campaigns (here, and below) by either volunteering or donating today. Help them get louder in June, so they can be talking more directly to all these voters who will be checking in. If you haven’t given to Joe Biden please do so TODAY. Trump is going to raise a lot money today and could end up outraising us in May, which will make it look he is being rewarded for his criminal behavior. We can’t let that happen. If you can Joe Biden needs your help today. Helping Joe get loud remains our highest priority this year all the way until Election Day.

The other way you can get loud is by going to school on the Biden Presidency and his record, and spend the month of June flooding your networks with stories and messages that are the most important to you. To start this campaign off I share something I wrote the other day:

In the last few weeks we’ve gotten repeated confirmation of the success of the Biden Presidency - inflation is down, food prices are down, crime and murder rates are way down, gas prices are down, the flow to the border is down. We’ve had the strongest economic recovery of any advanced economy in the world, the best job market since the 1960s, the lowest uninsured rate in American history, the deficit is trillions less, the Dow has broken 40,000 and all three indices continue to break records, and domestic oil, gas and renewable production continue to be at all time highs leaving America more energy independent than it has been in decades. Consumer sentiment surged last month. The Wall Street Journal called the American economy the “envy of the world,” and the Economist just wrote about the unprecedented start up boom America is experiencing right now. Biden’s big three investment bills have dramatically accelerated the energy transition necessary to combat climate change and will be creating opportunities and jobs for our workers for decades to come.

Joe Biden is a good and successful President. The country is better off. He is a man of deep integrity, who has spent his entire life fighting for us. He deserves re-election.

And remember, in the seven states, a clear majority believes that things are better where they are. Those of you who live in those states need to be working to connect that understanding to Joe Biden and his policies. Things are better in Michigan because of Joe Biden and the Democrats. This is something we and the campaign and Democratic leaders in these states can do in the coming months - for it is true.

There is an old saying in politics - that if you are not on offense you are losing. It’s time to go on offense for Joe Biden and the Democrats peeps. Lots of folks will be tuning in in the next month. We need to talk them, loudly, about us, about who we are, about Joe Biden and his successful Presidency. We need to get our campaigns more resources so they can get louder now, and up our volunteer time. We need to understand and seize this moment, and make this next month the month we win the 2024 election, together. We need to go fight with everything we got and leave it out there on the playing field now.
