Joe Biden Is A Good President Who Had A Bad Night. Donald Trump Is A Very Bad Man, A Compulsive Liar and Would Be A Very, Very Bad President
We have three more days to make June count, and cannot let up
Happy Friday all. I watched the debate with the Biden-Harris National Finance Council last night in Atlanta, and got to meet and take some selfies with many passionate members of the Hopium community from around the country. For me that was a real highlight from last night. Here’s me and my old friend Julie Chavez Rodriguez, the Biden-Harris campaign manager at the event.
Joe Biden did not have a good night last night. But a few things remain true as we dust ourselves off this morning:
Joe Biden is a good President. The country is better off. We have a very strong case for re-election
The Democratic Party is strong, winning elections across the country, raising tons of money, blessed with a very strong farm team and building the most powerful political machine we’ve ever seen
And they still have Trump - rapist, fraudster, traitor, felon - who was so manifestly unfit, so full of lies, so extreme and dangerous, so, how do we say it? - batshit crazy - last night that it remains hard to believe many hours later.
Watch Governor Newsom remind us of how much better off we are today due to Joe Biden:
I am traveling today and have several television appearances so this will be a shorter than usual post. We had a tough night last night but we cannot for one second lose sight of the central truth of this election - Donald Trump is a very bad man and would make a terrible, terrible President, and we just have to win. Winning got a little harder last night, and we will have to do more than we were planning to have the election we all want to have (this sentence was added after publication).
The other truth is that Sunday is the last day of June and the last day of the second quarter. Our candidates will be judged by how much money they raise by midnight Sunday night and one way to channel your worry and disappointment right now is by donating, volunteering and doing the work of helping us win this November.
Our Making June Count campaign has brought in more than $725,000 this month for our candidates and state parties. Many of you have also been canvassing, writing postcards, phonebanking and more in June. We are a community of doers here at Hopium. We do more, worry less, and man if there ever was a time to do more these next three days are it.
So let’s get to work folks. We need to have a strong final three days of the quarter. We can rest and talk on Monday. Learn more about the “Check and Checkmate” strategy driving our June campaign and recommendations. Watch our new interviews with Nebraska Democratic Party Chair Jane Kleeb, Janelle Bynum (OR-5), George Whitesides (CA-27), Kirsten Engel (AZ-06) and Andrei Cherny (AZ-01). Thank you! I feel like I spent all morning arguing against Biden stepping out of the race and all the negative nervous nellies. They are exhausting.
Joe did okay. I thought he was prepped to the point of exhaustion and hoarseness. He should have had 2 days of rest before taking the stage. Biden’s campaign made the bad call to debate a felon, rapist, fraudster. They elected to gift that felon and liar that large of an audience. What were they thinking? I hold Biden’s advisors responsible for taking that totally unnecessary risk. Then they overworked the President. The candidates are not now and were never equal. At the end of the day it is a binary choice, obvious as to who is best for this country. We know who they both are.
